Roles and responsibilities
Senior Claims Broker duties
- Deputise for the Claims Manager during periods of absence ensuring that the full duties of the department are met within the KPIs and providing direction to team members including interim line management duties
- Attend meetings with clients and brokers to support claims queries.
- Undertake projects as identified by the Claims Manager ensuring that time is adequately allocated to problem solve and present solutions including undertaking reconciliations.
- Provide training to colleagues imparting your experience within claims and supporting training of claims related systems such as ECF.
- Update and maintain the processes and procedures manuals on behalf of the claims team ensuring sign off of any changes from the Claims Manager.
- Future development of duties to support technical functions and potential to line manage colleagues as business/team grows.
Claims Broker Duties
- Gather claim correspondence and store to create complete claim files.
- Provide brokers and directors with up-to-date claim records and figures.
- Provide Loss Runs for TPA’s when requested
- Produce LCCF’s for out of scope run off claims
- Produce Claims Bordereau
- Ensure Loss Funds are sufficiently topped up
- Enter claims advices and settlements on in-house systems; Lloyd’s and Company market systems such as CLASS & ECF.
- Liaising with system companies for claims data and functionality.
- Constant liaison with markets with regards to claims handling.
- Provide our markets with complete accurate information.
- Diary procedures.
- Ensuring insurance department complaints are dealt with promptly and efficiently.
- Liaising with clients to understand and meet their business needs.
- Resolve client queries.
- Ensuring clients are kept up to date with claim information and status.
- Ensuring settlements are dealt with promptly.
- Ensuring Third Party Administrators have sufficient funding to honour claim settlements month by month.
- Claims personnel visits – set up meetings with our brokers, directors and markets.
- Contribute to business development with recommendations during marketing and renewal meetings.
- Deliver awareness to staff of client requirements/service instructions.
- Claims focused compliance issues.
- Support brokers and directors by providing relevant information and raising potential issues as appropriate.
- Report any potential E&O’s to directors and compliance officer at the earliest opportunity.
- Manage and influence written claims reporting procedures.
- Perform other duties as required.
Claims Technician Duties
- Processing and monitoring claims, dealing with accounting issues and client enquires.
- Ensuring all Loss Run requests are actioned within 24 hours
- Broking claims files into the market
- Reconciling paid claims to bordereaux
- Dealing with issues relating to claims or accounts
- Updating electronic data.
- Dealing with Bureau / XIS enquires
- Compliance with Procedures and Regulatory requirements
- Maintain required records, reports, and files in an organised manner and present these to senior management as and when required.
- Dealing with any ad hoc duties
- Broking claims files into the market
