Were excited to offer an opportunity for an experienced Support Worker to join our 2-bed childrens home in Derby. This pioneering service will provide a safe, nurturing, and homely environment for up to 2 children aged 6- 17 who are facing emotional and behavioural difficulties.

Your Role


As a Support Worker, youll play a central role in each childs development and day-to-day care. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Building strong, trusting, and supportive relationships
  • Developing and implementing individual, strength-based care plans
  • Advocating for each child and ensuring their voice is heard
  • Supporting them in education, training, or work placements
  • Encouraging and participating in hobbies and leisure activities
  • Promoting emotional well-being through therapeutic, trauma-informed approaches
  • Managing health appointments and liaising with external professionals
  • Maintaining a safe, secure, and family-style home environment
  • Ensuring accurate and timely record-keeping
  • Acting as a positive role model in both behaviour and conduct


What Were Looking For


We are seeking someone who brings:

  • Compassion and empathy with a warm, non-judgmental approach
  • Strong safeguarding knowledge and a commitment to child protection
  • Excellent communication and organisation skills
  • Understanding of developmental trauma and its impact on behaviour
  • Confidence in behaviour management and the ability to de-escalate situations
  • Minimum two years of experience working within a challenging behaviour setting.
