Workday UK Payroll Consultant - Contract

Mostly fully remote with occasional travel to Canary Wharf


Join our team as a Workday Payroll Consultant and become a key player in delivering innovative end-to-end Workday Payroll implementations for a diverse range of clients across the UK. Your expertise will help organizations streamline their payroll operations, adhere to UK regulations, and achieve seamless system integrations that truly make a difference.


What you’ll do:

  • Design and architect tailored Workday UK Payroll solutions by translating complex business requirements into effective system configurations.
  • Lead and support every phase of the implementation lifecycle — from discovery and design to testing, deployment, and post-go-live support.
  • Serve as the go-to subject matter expert on Workday Payroll within the UK, providing strategic guidance on best practices, functionality, and compliance standards.
  • Ensure all payroll processes align with UK legislation, including PAYE, National Insurance, statutory payments (SSP, SMP, SPP, ShPP, SAP), and other regulatory requirements.
  • Build strong client relationships, influencing stakeholders at all levels from middle management to executive leadership, and ensuring delivery excellence.


Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Extensive hands-on experience with Workday Payroll, specifically within the UK market, including configuration, testing, and deployment.
  • Proven track record of delivering multiple end-to-end Workday UK Payroll implementation projects.
  • Deep knowledge of UK payroll legislation, tax regulations, statutory payments, and compliance standards.
  • MUST be Workday UK Payroll certified to apply
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills capable of engaging clients and stakeholders effectively.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within project teams, manage workstreams, and mentor junior team members.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced consulting environment.


Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Experience with other HR or payroll modules within Workday.
  • Knowledge of integrations between Workday Payroll and external systems.
  • Additional certifications in HR or payroll fields.
  • Familiarity with UK employment law updates and recent payroll industry trends.


Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in Workday Payroll implementations, with a focus on UK clients.
