Senior Associate – Property Damage (Coverage & Liability)

London | Hybrid Working | £97,000 – £115,000


A leading commercial insurance litigation team is seeking a Senior Associate to join its well‑established and highly ranked London practice.


The role offers exposure to some of the most complex and high‑value coverage and property damage disputes in the market, acting for major insurer clients on strategically significant matters.

You will work as part of a specialist team handling technically demanding insurance disputes, including large‑loss and multi‑party claims with complex policy interpretation, liability and quantum issues.


The practice is widely recognised for the quality of its work and regularly acts on matters that compete directly with top‑tier firms in the sector.


Responsibilities will include:


  • Managing your own caseload (experience dependent) and supporting partners on major loss matters
  • Advising insurer clients on coverage, liability, quantum and litigation strategy
  • Drafting detailed and complex coverage opinions
  • Instructing counsel and experts and managing claims strategy
  • Conducting investigations and analysing factual and technical evidence
  • Drafting pleadings, court documents and applications
  • Attending mediations, client meetings and settlement negotiations
  • Supervising and mentoring junior solicitors


Candidate profile


The successful candidate will be:


  • A qualified solicitor with strong experience in coverage and liability disputes
  • Experienced in property damage or broader insurance litigation
  • Technically strong, analytical and commercially astute
  • Confident working autonomously while contributing to a collaborative team
  • Comfortable supporting the development of junior lawyers
