Homeless Support Worker - Chichester

The Role:

1to1 Group are working in partnership with a homeless charity that supports adults and young people. We are helping to recruit Support Workers to support the individuals staying within the hostels.

Responsibilities:

• Provide practical and emotional support to individuals experiencing homelessness, including advice on housing, employment, and welfare benefits.
• Help clients develop life skills, such as cooking, cleaning, and self-care, to promote independence.
• Provide crisis intervention and safeguarding
• Support clients with budgeting, managing finances, and addressing debt or benefit issues.
• Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and continuous professional development.
• Conduct regular case reviews with the clients to ensure they are invested and working on gaining their independence.
• Facilitate access to education, training, and employment opportunities for long-term stability.

Requirements:

• Experience working with vulnerable individuals
• Understanding of safeguarding
• Enhanced Child & Adult DBS on the update service is desirable
• Driving license would be desirable
• Knowledge of housing and welfare legislation
• Crisis management
• Problem-solving skills
