Transport Operations Manager

The Role

As Transport Manager, you will be responsible for the day‑to‑day management of the transport function, leading a traffic office team and overseeing c.40 drivers.

You will play a key part in strengthening operational discipline, improving communication, and driving service performance across the depot.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop the traffic office team
• Oversee daily collections, deliveries, route adherence, and driver allocation.
• Maintain operational discipline and ensure compliance across the fleet.
• Manage driver performance, behaviour, and accountability.
• Work closely with pallet networks
• Resolve issues quickly and make confident operational decisions.
• Drive improvements across processes, standards, and overall operational culture.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven leadership in a traffic office or transport management environment.
• Strong understanding of Transport cost control and profit levers
• Transport planning knowledge and understanding
• Experience of pallet networks would be preferred however we are flexible on sector background
• Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to make decisions under pressure.
• Someone who thrives in environments undergoing change and improvement.
