The Opportunity

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Environmental Manager / Advisor to support a major, high-performing industrial facility in West Yorkshire.

This is a large-scale, energy-from-waste operation, processing over 700,000 tonnes of material annually and generating significant power output, operating on a 24/7 basis. The site forms part of one of the largest facilities of its kind in the UK, with strong internal expertise and established processes.

The role is hands-on and site-based focused on maintaining environmental compliance and supporting day-to-day operations during a period of absence.

The Role

  • Supporting reactive and emergency environmental incidents
  • Completing periodic reporting (e.g. Quarterly returns)
  • Investigating complaints (e.g. Dust, local impact) and driving resolution

  • A practical, hands-on approach to site-based delivery
  • Ability to manage reactive issues and stakeholder concerns
  • Confidence working in a fast-paced, 24/7 operational environment
  • Ability to work independently, with support from a wider environmental team

This role would suit an Environmental Advisor or Manager with a strong delivery mindset, particularly those with contractor experience.

Working Pattern

  • Ideally 5 days on-site, flexibility down to 3 days
  • Site-based role (not remote)
  • Flexibility on which days are worked on-site

What’s on Offer

  • Work on a flagship UK industrial facility
  • Immediate, high-impact role with real responsibility
  • Strong internal support and established team structure
  • Flexible working pattern for a contract role
  • Quick, streamlined hiring process

Process

  • 1-stage interview (with optional initial call)
  • Fast turnaround expected
