Marketing & Business Development Manager

12‑month fixed‑term contract | Kent

A Top 20 accountancy firm is seeking an experienced Marketing & Business Development Manager to join its established Marketing & BD function on a 12‑month fixed‑term basis.

This is a broad, hands‑on role offering real ownership across campaigns, content, events and business development activity, alongside responsibility for mentoring junior team members and working closely with senior stakeholders. The role is based in Kent, with flexibility across office locations and hybrid working.

The role

The Marketing & BD Manager will play a key role in delivering firm‑wide priorities across growth, brand and client engagement.

Strategy & campaigns

  • Develop and deliver integrated marketing and BD campaigns aligned to sector, service and regional priorities
  • Translate business objectives into clear, actionable marketing plans
  • Act as a brand custodian, ensuring consistency across all channels and materials

Content & thought leadership

  • Oversee the creation and delivery of content across priority markets and sectors
  • Edit and sign off thought leadership, reports and surveys
  • Manage business newsletters (including redevelopment and relaunch activity)
  • Work with senior stakeholders to deliver timely editorial content and press releases

Events & client engagement

  • Plan and deliver a range of events including webinars, roundtables and in‑person receptions
  • Support sector and firm‑wide initiatives designed to drive visibility and relationships

Management & collaboration

  • Line manage and support two team members, providing coaching and development
  • Coordinate closely with colleagues across marketing, BD and data
  • Ensure all outputs meet brand, quality and regulatory standards

Business development

  • Partner with sector and regional teams to identify growth opportunities
  • Support lead generation activity and firm‑wide BD initiatives
  • Create and manage target lists, research and market insight

Reporting & performance

  • Track campaign performance and ROI, reporting to senior stakeholders
  • Manage budgets within areas of responsibility and recommend improvements

The role will also provide ongoing support to senior marketing and BD leadership on key initiatives and programmes.

The ideal background

  • Experience in professional services marketing or business development (accountancy, legal or consultancy preferred)
  • Strong copywriting, editing and stakeholder management skills
  • Comfortable juggling multiple projects and priorities in a fast‑moving environment
  • Confident people manager who enjoys developing others
  • Commercial, analytical and outcomes‑focused
  • Values‑driven and collaborative in approach
