Job description
Junior Account Manager
£30,000–£35,000 basic + £40,000 OTE
Full-time, office-based | Poynton
Why This Role?
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded Junior Account Manager to develop their career within the logistics sector, joining a fast‑moving, performance‑focused environment where execution and ownership really matter. The role suits someone early in their account management or sales career who wants exposure to real responsibility, clear structure, and measurable impact.
You’ll sit at the heart of customer activity, working closely with Sales, Customer Services, and Finance to grow revenue, strengthen customer relationships, and ensure accounts are proactively managed. It’s a role that rewards organisation, consistency, and strong commercial judgement.
The Role
You’ll take ownership of a portfolio of customers, supporting revenue growth across both new and existing accounts. Your focus will be on increasing wallet share, re‑activating dormant customers, and ensuring opportunities don’t stall due to lack of follow‑up, onboarding issues, or credit risk.
Commercial & Account Ownership
- Grow revenue across existing logistics accounts through proactive engagement
- Identify upsell, cross‑sell, and expansion opportunities using customer activity and trends
- Re‑engage inactive or down‑trading customers through targeted outbound calls
- Review and revive stalled or lost quotes by addressing objections and repositioning solutions
Working Cross‑Functionally
- Partner closely with Customer Services and Finance to protect and grow revenue
- Monitor customer ageing and debt exposure, aligning activity with credit considerations
- Act on weekly priority customer lists where engagement or bookings have dropped
Systems & Structure
- Maintain clear, accurate account and pipeline records in HubSpot
- Follow structured call cycles and track onboarding, retention, and customer activity
- Use reporting to drive action and follow‑up, not just observation
What Success Looks Like
- Increased engagement and retention across managed accounts
- Improved conversion of quotes and new business opportunities
- Growth in wallet share and reduced dormant or stalled customers
- Strong collaboration with internal teams
- Consistent, organised execution with full ownership of accounts
About You
- Early experience in sales, account management, or a commercially focused role
- Confident on the phone and comfortable with outbound customer contact
- Organised, data‑aware, and proactive in your approach
- Keen to learn, take responsibility, and build a long‑term career
- Happy working five days a week in an office‑based environment
What’s On Offer
- £30,000–£35,000 basic salary (dependent on experience)
- £40,000 OTE with clear, achievable commission structure
- Full‑time, office‑based role in Poynton
- Strong foundations, training, and progression for high performers
If you’re looking to step up into a Junior Account Manager role where your effort directly influences revenue, customer retention, and your own career progression within logistics, this is a role with real substance and long‑term opportunity.
