Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive and commercially driven Retail Account Manager to act as a key link between our senior sales leadership and our retail partners. This is a mid-level role suited to someone with at least three years of experience managing retail accounts, including exposure to UK retailers.
You will play a central role in maintaining and growing relationships with major retail partners, ensuring strong communication, consistent outreach, and seamless execution of commercial strategies. The ideal candidate is highly organised, relationship-focused, and confident managing multiple stakeholders both internally and externally.
Key Responsibilities
Account Management & Relationship Building
- Manage day-to-day relationships with key retail accounts, acting as the primary point of contact
- Build strong, long-term partnerships with buyers and retail stakeholders
- Conduct regular check-ins, performance reviews, and business updates with clients
- Understand retailer needs and align them with internal business objectives
Sales Support & Commercial Execution
- Support senior sales management in executing account strategies and achieving revenue targets
- Assist in planning and delivering joint business plans with retail partners
- Monitor sales performance, identify growth opportunities, and implement action plans
- Coordinate product launches, promotions, and in-store/online activations
Communication & Coordination
- Act as the bridge between internal teams (sales, marketing, operations) and retail customers
- Ensure clear, consistent communication across all stakeholders
- Prepare reports, presentations, and account updates for senior leadership
- Manage incoming requests and ensure timely responses and resolutions
Outreach & Growth
- Proactively identify opportunities to expand existing accounts
- Support new business development initiatives within the retail channel
- Maintain strong market awareness, including competitor activity and retail trends
Operational Excellence
- Oversee order management, forecasting, and stock coordination with internal teams
- Ensure accurate account data, reporting, and CRM updates
- Resolve any operational or service issues efficiently
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in account management, sales, or retail partnerships
- Proven experience working with retailers, including UK retail accounts
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Commercially aware with a proactive, problem-solving mindset
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM systems
Desirable
- Experience working with major or multi-site retail accounts
- Familiarity with retail sales cycles, promotions, and category management
- Exposure to international retail markets
