Business Development Officer – Supported Housing


Overview

We are looking for a well-connected and proactive Business Development Officer to support the growth of HCH. This role is focused on building strong referral pipelines by developing relationships across the homelessness, charity, and supported housing sectors.


Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain relationships with:
  • Local authorities
  • Housing teams
  • Homelessness charities
  • Support organisations (mental health, substance misuse, domestic abuse, etc.)
  • Actively promote HCH within the sector to generate referrals
  • Source and secure new service users through strong partnership networks
  • Engage with organisations supporting individuals with:
  • Homelessness
  • Mental health challenges
  • Alcohol/substance misuse
  • Individuals receiving benefits (e.g. PIP)
  • Attend networking events, community meetings, and sector forums
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure smooth onboarding of referrals
  • Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of referral partners


Key Requirements

  • Proven experience within the charity, homelessness, or supported housing sector
  • Strong existing network across:
  • Local authorities
  • Charities and non-profits
  • Housing and support providers
  • Demonstrated ability to generate referrals or partnerships
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Confident, proactive, and target-driven
  • Strong understanding of the challenges faced by vulnerable individuals
