HGV Class 1 Driver – Coventry, West Midlands - £17.34 - £37.00 per hour - No handball - Paid breaks

People Solutions are currently recruiting for a HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Coventry, West Midlands. This is a fantastic opportunity offering £17.34 – £18.50 per hour, no handball work, paid breaks, and ongoing full-time hours with immediate starts available.

This role offers clean, straightforward curtain-sider work with no handball, making it ideal for experienced drivers looking for consistent work, minimal physical workload, and strong earning potential through overtime.

This position is ideal for applicants looking for a role as a LGV Class 1 Driver, CE Driver or Articulated Lorry Driver.

Shifts:

 • Monday – Friday
• AM and PM start times available
• Regular weekend overtime available
• Long shifts available to maximise earnings

Rates of Pay:

AM Shifts:

 • £17.34 per hour
• £21.68 per hour after 9 hours
• £34.69 per hour on sixth shift

PM Shifts:

 • £18.50 per hour
• £23.12 per hour after 9 hours
• £37.00 per hour on sixth shift

Day-to-Day Duties:

 • RDC and brewery deliveries using curtain-sider vehicles
• No handball required
• Completing vehicle checks before and after shifts
• Ensuring loads are secure and compliant
• Following delivery schedules and routes efficiently
• Adhering to all road traffic laws and company procedures

Essential Skills:

 • Valid UK Category CE (Class 1) driving licence
• Minimum 12 months' Class 1 driving experience
• No more than six points for minor offences
• Valid CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card
• Good communication and professional attitude

Desirable Experience:

 • Previous RDC delivery experience
• Curtain-sider experience
• Brewery or multi-drop experience (advantageous but not essential)

Training Provided:

 • Driver assessment required prior to start
• One-day paid induction
• Ongoing support and development
