MANUFACTURING R&D ENGINEER (ASSEMBLY TECHNOLOGIES)


  • £35 per hour (via Umbrella) | Contract until March 2027 | 35-hour working week
  • Hybrid role – 3 days per week onsite in Bristol
  • Work on cutting-edge aerospace manufacturing technologies and future aircraft production

ABOUT THE CLIENT


Our client is a globally recognised engineering organisation at the forefront of innovation within advanced manufacturing and aerospace technology. Their Research & Technology teams are focused on developing next-generation production capabilities to improve efficiency, quality, and scalability. Due to ongoing investment in future manufacturing programmes, they are now looking for a Manufacturing R&D Engineer specialising in Assembly Technologies to support this exciting work.


THE MANUFACTURING R&D ENGINEER (ASSEMBLY TECHNOLOGIES) ROLE:


As a Manufacturing R&D Engineer, you will support the development and validation of innovative assembly technologies for future aerospace production. You will design and execute experimental trials, assess new manufacturing processes, and analyse performance data to drive improvements in efficiency and quality.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, production, and external research partners, contributing to the development of scalable and cost-effective assembly solutions.


MANUFACTURING R&D ENGINEER (ASSEMBLY TECHNOLOGIES) ESSENTIAL SKILLS:


  • Degree (or higher) in Mechanical, Aeronautical, Production Engineering, Materials Science, or similar
  • Experience in R&D or manufacturing engineering within assembly technologies or automation
  • Knowledge of assembly processes (e.g. Riveting, bonding, fastening)
  • Experience with CAD tools (e.g. CATIA / 3DX)
  • Understanding of materials science (ideally composites)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project delivery skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
