Algorithms Engineer
Copello are working with a leading engineering organisation to recruit an Algorithms Engineer to support the development of advanced technologies within Radio Frequency (RF) sensing systems.
This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge projects, working on innovative solutions in a highly specialised and evolving field.
Salary: Circa £45,000 – £58,000 (dependent on experience)
Working Pattern: Hybrid – typically 4 days per week on-site due to project requirements
Security Clearance: Applicants must be British Citizens or Dual UK nationals with British citizenship. Security checks (BPSS) will be required following offer stage.
The Opportunity
Our client is growing their RF Seeker capability and is looking to engage talented engineers across multiple experience levels. In this role, you’ll be involved in algorithm development and system-level studies, supporting the advancement of complex sensing technologies.
You’ll have the chance to contribute to high-profile programmes and work on sophisticated systems including Active Electronically Scanned Arrays (AESA) and multi-mode sensor technologies.
This role offers excellent scope for technical development and innovation. You’ll work within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team and play an active role in shaping system performance and capability, with strong support for your ongoing professional growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and refine algorithms, ensuring they meet system requirements
- Carry out technical studies to identify improvements and future enhancements
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams
- Integrate algorithms into complex system models
- Perform system analysis and performance assessments
- Contribute to innovation initiatives, including the use of agile methodologies and emerging technologies such as machine learning and AI
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- Experience in algorithm development
- Proficiency in MATLAB
- Ability to plan and conduct investigations to support system design
- Strong data analysis skills
Desirable:
- Experience with modelling and coding (e.g. Simulink)
- Knowledge of RF systems and digital signal processing
- Experience in hypothesis development and validation methods
- Technical report writing skills
- Exposure to Machine Learning and AI
