About the Role

The Oho Group have partnered with a growing biotech company looking for an embedded software engineer to join their growing team in Cambridge. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of innovative technologies that support advancements in life sciences, healthcare, and medical research.

You will work at the intersection of hardware and software, helping design, develop, and test electronic systems used in cutting-edge scientific and medical applications.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electronic circuits and systems, including analogue and digital components
  • Develop and maintain embedded software/firmware (C/C++ or similar) for microcontroller-based systems
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical, software, and bioengineering specialists
  • Support prototyping, testing, and validation of new products and technologies
  • Troubleshoot and debug hardware and embedded systems issues
  • Contribute to design documentation and regulatory compliance processes (e.g. For medical devices)
  • Assist in transitioning prototypes into scalable, manufacturable products


Required Skills & Experience

  • Degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • 2–3 years of industry experience in electronics design and embedded systems
  • Experience with circuit design, schematic capture, and PCB layout tools
  • Eagerness to learn and develop your skills within a team environment
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
