Job description
We are hiring on behalf of our client, a leading data centre operator in the Greater London area, who is looking for an Electrical Engineer (HV/LV) with exposure to DCIM platforms. This role supports the operation and optimisation of critical infrastructure in a fast-paced, high-availability environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain HV/LV electrical systems in a live data centre environment
- Use DCIM platforms to monitor infrastructure and performance
- Support capacity planning, load balancing, and redundancy strategies
- Analyse data to improve uptime, efficiency, and energy usage
- Carry out planned maintenance and respond to incidents
- Support commissioning, upgrades, and expansion projects
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth operations
- Maintain compliance with UK standards and safety regulations
Skills & Experience
- 4+ years experience working with HV/LV systems such as UPS, switchgear, transformers, and generators
- Previous data centre experience preferred or required
- Familiarity with DCIM tools or infrastructure monitoring systems
- Understanding of critical environments and uptime demands
- Ability to read electrical schematics and technical documentation
- Knowledge of capacity planning and load management
- Relevant electrical qualifications (HNC, HND, NVQ or equivalent)
- Awareness of health and safety procedures including permit-to-work and HV operations
- Exposure to automation, scripting, or energy management is a plus
- Basic understanding of cooling systems or hybrid/cloud environments beneficial
