Assistant Accountant - Hybrid Working

I am delighted to be working in partnership with a well-established and growing organisation, who are looking to appoint an ambitious Assistant Accountant into a highly visible and commercially focused role.
This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career finance professional to gain exposure across both cost analysis and commercial finance, working closely with operational teams and senior stakeholders across the business.
The RoleThis is a broad and progressive position, offering a blend of financial reporting, cost analysis and business partnering responsibilities. You will play a key role in supporting business performance, improving cost visibility and providing meaningful financial insight.
Key responsibilities will include:

• Monitoring and analysing costs and variances
• Supporting month-end close activities
• Working closely with operational teams to understand performance and identify improvements
• Maintaining and validating costing data within systems (SAP experience highly advantageous)
• Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes
• Delivering variance analysis and performance insights
• Partnering with operational and commercial stakeholders to support profitability improvement and pricing and margin analysis
• Financial reporting, controls and continuous improvement across finance processes.

About You

• This role will suit a part qualified accountant (CIMA / ACCA or AAT Qualified), looking to build a career within commercial or operational finance (study support available)
• At least 2 years experience in a cost-focused finance role
• Exposure to costing and variance analysis
• Strong Excel and analytical skills
• Experience with SAP (or similar ERP systems) is highly desirable
• Ideally some manufacturing experience
• A proactive mindset, with a genuine interest in developing commercially
• Confident communicator, able to work with both finance and non-finance stakeholders
