School Mental Health Assistant - Specialist SEN School

Location: Reading, BerkshireStart Date: ASAPPay: £89 - £100 per dayHours: Full-Time

Are you a graduate eager to gain practical experience in children's mental health? Are you considering a future career as an Educational Psychologist, Clinical Psychologist, or Mental Health Practitioner?

A specialist SEN school in Reading is seeking a School Mental Health Assistant to join their team as soon as possible. The school supports pupils with a wide range of social, emotional, and mental health needs, including trauma, attachment disorders, anxiety, and moderate learning difficulties.

In this role, you will: * Deliver 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs * Use therapeutic approaches and behaviour strategies to support learning * Assist teachers with classroom activities and student engagement * Work closely with on-site specialists to provide tailored support

This role offers a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with children who have complex needs, while developing a strong understanding of SEN and SEMH support strategies.

The school is looking for someone who is proactive, resilient, and genuinely passionate about supporting young people. Previous experience is beneficial but not essential.
