Graduate Engineer (Glass & Facades)

Job description

As a Graduate Engineer, you’ll support the design and delivery of façade and structural engineering projects, working closely with experienced engineers and consultants. You’ll be involved in everything from early-stage concepts through to detailed design and site involvement.

This role is ideal for someone who wants to specialise in façade engineering while building a strong structural foundation.

• Assisting in the production of design calculations and technical analysis
• Supporting façade and structural design across a variety of projects
• Preparing sketches, drawings, specifications, and reports
• Contributing to feasibility studies and design solutions
• Attending site visits, inspections, and project meetings
• Liaising with clients, consultants, and internal teams
• Supporting planning of site investigations
• Working to project deadlines, budgets, and quality standards
• Continuously developing your technical knowledge and engineering skills

Essential:

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals
• Experience producing manual calculations
• Working knowledge of Eurocodes (British Standards / UK NA)
• Understanding of CDM Regulations and designer responsibilities
• Ability to design in materials such as steel, concrete, timber, and masonry
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Proactive, motivated, and eager to learn
• Ability to produce clear sketches and technical information

Desirable:

• Familiarity with design software and its limitations
• AutoCAD knowledge
