Assistant Principal – Behaviour & Attendance (Autism & SEMH)Start: SeptemberContract: PermanentPay: Dependent on experience (Leadership Scale)

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Principal to join a specialist SEN school supporting pupils with Autism and SEMH, with a clear focus on behaviour, attendance, and pastoral culture across the school.

The successful candidate will lead on whole-school behaviour strategy, attendance improvement, and pupil engagement, embedding trauma-informed, restorative and inclusion-focused practice. This role requires a strong, visible leader who can support staff, work closely with families and external agencies, and ensure pupils feel safe, regulated, and ready to learn.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and senior leadership experience
  • Strong background in SEN, SEMH, or alternative provision
  • Proven impact on behaviour, attendance, and school culture
  • Confident, calm, and consistent leadership style
  • Excellent relationship-building with pupils, staff, and parents

This is a key senior leadership role with the opportunity to make a significant, long-term impact in a specialist setting.
