Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistant Needed At Secondary PRU!

Location: Lancaster, LA1Contract: Full-time, Long-Term - 08:30am to 3:30pm, Monday to FridayStart Date: ASAP

We are recruiting a full-time Teaching Assistant to join a Secondary Pupil Referral Unit in Lancaster on a long-term basis, starting as soon as possible.

This alternative provision supports pupils aged 11–16 who are struggling to engage with mainstream education. The school offers a caring, safe and supportive environment, delivering high-quality education to students with behavioural needs, SEMH and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs).

The Role:

• Supporting pupils with behavioural challenges and emotional needs
• Working closely with teaching staff to promote engagement and progress
• Providing consistent, calm and empathetic support throughout the school day
• Helping to create a positive and structured learning environment

Essential Requirements:

• Experience supporting children with behavioural needs
• Experience supporting pupils with SEMH needs and/or trauma
• A calm, empathetic approach with strong behaviour management skills
• A reliable, hard-working and committed attitude
• Full-time availability and readiness to start ASAP
• An Enhanced DBS with Children’s Barred List (or willingness to obtain one immediately)
• Willingness to complete Reed’s compliance process promptly (if not already completed)
