Between £93.00 and £105.00 Per Hour

Job description

SEN Assistant (Autism Specialist) Ellesmere Port | Start Date: After May Half Term 2026 Part-time | Temporary

This is one of those rare opportunities where the difference you make will be felt every single day-and where your absence would genuinely be missed. Supporting children with autism (ASD) in this setting isn't just about classroom help; it's about shaping moments of trust, calm, and progress that can change a child's entire learning journey.

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Assistant to join a supportive educational setting in Ellesmere Port. The focus is on inclusive, child-centred practice, where pupils are supported to feel safe, understood, and ready to learn.

The Role You will work closely with pupils with autism and additional needs across Early Years and primary age ranges, supporting communication, emotional regulation, sensory needs, and structured routines. Your role will involve helping children access learning in a way that is meaningful to them, while building confidence, independence, and trust.

Working alongside teaching staff, you will support individual learning plans and help create a calm, predictable environment where pupils can thrive both academically and emotionally.

What You'll Need

  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
  • Experience supporting children with autism and additional needs
  • Understanding of safeguarding and inclusive education practices
  • Awareness of sensory needs, communication support, and positive behaviour approaches
  • A calm, resilient, and empathetic approach

What We Offer

  • A supportive, welcoming team environment
  • Ongoing training and development in SEN practice
  • A strong focus on staff wellbeing
  • Opportunities to grow your skills within specialist support

This role is underpinned by a commitment to adapting support to each individual child, with a strong emphasis on consistency, emotional understanding, and relationship-based approaches to learning and behaviour.

If you are ready to step into a role where your presence truly matters and your work leaves a lasting impact, we would love to hear from you.

Apply now-opportunities like this are rare and highly sought after.
