Job description

We are working exclusively with a growing and well-regarded construction business to appoint a Junior Estimator as part of their expanding commercial function.

This role is ideally suited to someone with 2-3 years' industry experience who is looking to build a long-term career in estimating, with clear progression into a more senior position over time.

The OpportunityYou will join an experienced pre-construction team and gain hands-on exposure to the full tendering process, supporting the delivery of accurate and commercially competitive bids across a diverse project portfolio.

This is a genuine development role, offering structured support and mentorship for someone looking to take the next step in their career.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the preparation of detailed cost estimates and tender submissions
  • Producing quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications
  • Engaging with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain and analyse quotations
  • Supporting bid strategy and value engineering exercises
  • Maintaining cost data and assisting with pricing benchmarks
  • Working closely with senior estimators on live tenders

About You

  • 2-3 years' experience in construction (estimating, commercial, or quantity surveying background)
  • Strong interest in developing a career in pre-construction / estimating
  • Good numerical and analytical ability with strong attention to detail
  • Comfortable working with Excel; exposure to estimating software is advantageous
  • Proactive, motivated, and keen to learn within a fast-paced environment
