Behaviour Teaching Assistant

Location: Thrapston, Northamptonshire

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: 92.63-100 per day

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Teaching Assistant to support students in schools across the Thrapston area. This role is ideal for individuals with a passion for working with young people who may present challenging behaviour or have social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.

You will play a key role in helping students engage with learning, develop positive behaviours, and build confidence in a structured and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with behavioural needs
  • Assist in managing and de-escalating challenging behaviour using positive strategies
  • Support students both in and out of the classroom
  • Work closely with teachers and SENCO to implement behaviour support plans
  • Encourage positive social interactions and emotional regulation
  • Monitor and report on student progress and behaviour

Requirements

  • Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with behavioural needs, is desirable
  • A calm, patient, and consistent approach
  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
  • Team Teach training is desirable but not essential
