A full-time opportunity has become available for a resilient and committed SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Waltham Forest. This long-term role is available for an immediate start and offers a competitive daily rate of £90 to £115, depending on experience.

Do you have experience supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Are you confident managing challenging behaviour in a calm and professional manner? Are you passionate about supporting pupils to overcome barriers to learning?

If so, this could be the ideal role for you.

The Role - SEMH Teaching Assistant

As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers, the SENCO, and pastoral staff to support pupils who require additional behavioural and emotional support. You will provide 1:1 and small group interventions, implement behaviour support strategies, and use effective de-escalation techniques to manage challenging behaviour.

You will play a key role in helping pupils regulate their emotions, build resilience, and engage positively in their learning.
