Night Support Worker

Salary: £12.87 - £14.03 per hour (linked to competency and qualifications)Plus: £25 night supplement per shift workedWelcome Bonus: £1,500Contract: Permanent - Full Time & Part Time availableLocation: Royston

Working Hours

  • 4-week rota pattern of 14 waking night shifts
  • Shifts run from 8:45pm to 8:15am
  • Average of 40 hours per week
  • Regular weekend working (typically every other weekend)

About the Role

We are recruiting experienced Night Support Workers to join a specialist residential setting supporting children and young people with severe, profound and multiple learning difficulties, resulting in complex needs.

This is a waking night position, where you will play a vital role in keeping children and young adults safe, comfortable and supported throughout the night while promoting consistency, reassurance and dignity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing exceptional levels of care throughout the night
  • Supporting children and young adults with bedtime routines, including washing and changing
  • Encouraging healthy sleep patterns where possible
  • Carrying out regular checks during the night and managing any incidents calmly and effectively
  • Meeting all medical and care needs, including administration and recording of prescribed medication (following training)
  • Ensuring the environment remains safe, calm, supportive and welcoming
  • Undertaking light housekeeping duties during quieter periods
  • Participating in personal care and physical intervention where required

Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs is highly desirable.

Training and Development

  • Full training and ongoing support provided
  • Funded Level 3 Diploma in Residential Child Care available
  • Enhanced DBS check paid for
  • Opportunities to develop additional skills and responsibilities
