1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant - Doncaster

Academics are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to work on a flexible, temporary ongoing basis within supportive mainstream primary schools across Doncaster.

This role focuses on providing tailored one-to-one support for pupils with additional needs, ensuring they are fully included within the classroom environment and able to access learning effectively.

About the Role

As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant in Doncaster, you will work closely with a specific pupil who requires additional support due to needs such as Autism, ADHD, SEMH or communication difficulties.

This 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant role in Doncaster will involve supporting the pupil within a mainstream classroom, helping them to engage with lessons, regulate behaviour, and build confidence while remaining part of the wider class.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support within a mainstream classroom * Adapt tasks and learning activities to suit individual needs * Support EHCP targets and personalised learning plans * Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation * Encourage independence and social interaction * Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and parents * Follow safeguarding and school policies at all times

Candidate Requirements

• Experience supporting children with SEN within mainstream schools * Understanding of Autism, ADHD, SEMH or speech and language needs * Patient, consistent and nurturing approach * Strong communication and teamwork skills * Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
