Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Alternative ProvisionAre you an experienced HLTA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant) with a passion for supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Do you have the confidence and skills to lead small group interventions and support students who face barriers to learning? This alternative provision is looking to appoint a dedicated HLTA to join their supportive and dynamic team.As an HLTA, you will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the provision. You will lead small group interventions, deliver pre-planned lessons and provide targeted support for students with SEMH needs. You will work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to help students manage behaviour, re-engage with education and make meaningful progress.This role requires a confident and experienced HLTA with a strong understanding of SEMH needs and behaviour management strategies. The successful candidate will be proactive, resilient and committed to making a difference.Job Role:- Leading small group interventions to support learning and engagement
- Delivering pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher
- Supporting students with SEMH needs and challenging behaviours
- Working closely with teachers and pastoral staff
- Helping students manage behaviour and develop emotional regulation
- Building positive and trusting relationships with students
- Monitoring and reporting on student progress and behaviour
- Contributing to a structured and supportive learning environment
- Work within a supportive and experienced staff team
- Play a key role in supporting students with SEMH needs
