This highly regarded secondary school is looking to appoint a Graduate Teaching Assistant from September. The position is ideal for graduates who are considering a career in teaching and want to gain valuable, hands-on classroom experience before progressing onto a PGCE, School Direct, or SCITT programme.
In this role, you will work alongside experienced teaching staff, supporting students across Key Stages 3 and 4 in both academic and pastoral areas. The school is known for its strong mentoring, clear behaviour policies, and supportive staff environment-making it an excellent setting for aspiring teachers to develop their skills.
Key Responsibilities: * Support students during lessons across a variety of subjects * Deliver targeted 1:1 and small group interventions * Assist with lesson preparation and classroom organisation * Promote student engagement, confidence, and positive behaviour * Gain insight into planning, assessment, and effective classroom management
The Ideal Candidate: * A graduate in any subject area * A genuine interest in pursuing a career in education * Confident, professional, and enthusiastic when working with young people * Previous experience with young people (e.g. Tutoring, mentoring, coaching) is beneficial but not essential
