Location: Chester-le-StreetRole: Key Stage 2 Teaching AssistantType: Supply (Summer Term), with potential extension to September

Teaching Personnel is working closely with a specialist behavioural unit in Chester-le-Street to recruit a dedicated KS2 Teaching Assistant on a supply basis across the summer term, with the possibility of continuing into September.

This role is ideal for a confident and resilient Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs in a structured and nurturing setting.

• Support KS2 pupils within a behavioural or alternative provision setting
• Work closely with the class teacher and support staff to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour
• Provide 1:1 and small-group support tailored to individual learning and behaviour plans
• Help pupils engage positively with learning and develop emotional regulation skills
• Create a safe, consistent, and supportive learning environment

• Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in KS2
• Experience supporting pupils with behavioural needs (SEMH) is highly desirable
• A calm, patient, and resilient approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
• Right to work in the UK
