Make an Impact Where it Matters MostAre you looking for a role that goes beyond standard classroom support? We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistant to join a leading Alternative Provision (AP) in Blackpool.
This setting provides a vital "fresh start" for young people who have faced barriers in mainstream education.This is not just a job; it's an opportunity to be a consistent, positive influence in the lives of students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
The RoleIn an AP environment, no two days are the same. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to re-engage students through a mix of academic and vocational learning.
Personalised Support: Work 1:1 or in small groups to help students access a bespoke curriculum.
Behavior Mentoring: Use trauma-informed practices and de-escalation techniques to maintain a calm, safe learning space.
Emotional Literacy: Support students in building self-esteem and managing anxiety using ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) strategies.
Classroom Collaboration: Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons and tracking student progress.
Experience: Previous experience in a PRU, AP, or SEN setting is highly desirable, but we also welcome applications from youth workers or those with a background in residential care.
Resilience: A "thick skin" and the ability to stay calm and kind, even on challenging days.
Communication: The ability to build genuine rapport with "hard-to-reach" young people.
Qualifications: Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is preferred, but your attitude and experience are what truly matter.
Excellent Pay: Earn between £102.83 and £122 per day, depending on your experience.
Genuine PAYE: No umbrella company fees or hidden deductions-what you see is what you get.
Professional Growth: This is a temp-to-perm position. We are looking for someone to become a long-term part of the school community.
