Location: Blackpool, Lancashire Salary: £102.83 - £122.00 per day (PAYE) Contract: Full-Time, Temporary to Permanent Start Date: ASAP

Are you looking for a role that goes beyond standard classroom support? We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistant to join a leading Alternative Provision (AP) in Blackpool.

This setting provides a vital "fresh start" for young people who have faced barriers in mainstream education.This is not just a job; it's an opportunity to be a consistent, positive influence in the lives of students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

In an AP environment, no two days are the same. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to re-engage students through a mix of academic and vocational learning.

• Personalised Support: Work 1:1 or in small groups to help students access a bespoke curriculum.

• Behavior Mentoring: Use trauma-informed practices and de-escalation techniques to maintain a calm, safe learning space.

• Emotional Literacy: Support students in building self-esteem and managing anxiety using ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) strategies.

• Classroom Collaboration: Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons and tracking student progress.

• Experience: Previous experience in a PRU, AP, or SEN setting is highly desirable, but we also welcome applications from youth workers or those with a background in residential care.

• Resilience: A "thick skin" and the ability to stay calm and kind, even on challenging days.

• Communication: The ability to build genuine rapport with "hard-to-reach" young people.

• Qualifications: Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is preferred, but your attitude and experience are what truly matter.

• Excellent Pay: Earn between £102.83 and £122 per day, depending on your experience.

• Genuine PAYE: No umbrella company fees or hidden deductions-what you see is what you get.
