About the Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to support students in accessing the curriculum and staying engaged in lessons. You will provide both classroom-based support and targeted interventions for students who need additional help.

This role is ideal for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in a school environment and potentially progress into teaching, educational psychology, or specialist support roles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting students in lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Providing one-to-one and small group intervention support
  • Assisting students with additional learning needs, including SEND and SEMH
  • Helping to manage classroom behaviour and promote positive engagement
  • Supporting teachers with preparation of learning materials
  • Encouraging student independence, confidence, and progress

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who is patient, proactive, and passionate about supporting young people.

You may be suitable if you have:

  • Experience working with children or young people (school, care, youth work, coaching, etc.)
  • A calm and supportive approach to behaviour and learning needs
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • An interest in education, SEND, or child development
  • A degree or relevant qualification (desirable but not essential)
