Smart Education is currently recruiting for a passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join an inspiring specialist educational provision in Stourbridge.
This is not your typical classroom-based role. This unique setting provides a creative, therapeutic, and outdoor-focused curriculum designed to support children and young people with complex social, emotional, and educational needs.

About the RoleAs an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils through engaging and meaningful activities that help build confidence, independence, emotional wellbeing, and life skills.
The curriculum includes a range of practical and outdoor learning experiences such as:
- Woodwork
- Pottery and textiles
- Cooking and food preparation
- Gardening and animal care
- Outdoor learning activities
You will play a key role in helping students feel safe, supported, and motivated to engage in education.
Key Responsibilities- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND and behavioural needs
- Support learners through a therapeutic and practical curriculum
- Promote emotional wellbeing, confidence, and independence
- Encourage engagement through creative and outdoor learning activities
- Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
- Act as a calm, consistent, and positive role model
- Help maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment

- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
- Previous experience working with children in education, SEND, or care settings

- Interest in creative, practical, and outdoor learning
- GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent)
- A genuine passion for supporting children and young people
