We are working with Northampton General Hospital to recruit a Senior Quality Assurance Technician to join their specialist Pharmacy Quality Assurance team.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within a highly regulated environment, supporting the safe production and supply of medicines across aseptic and manufacturing services.
About the Role
As a Senior QA Technician, you will play a key role in maintaining quality, safety, and compliance across pharmacy production and aseptic services.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the Quality Assurance (QA) service for licensed production and wholesale facilities
- Undertaking environmental monitoring of clean rooms and aseptic units
- Performing microbiological testing, airflow monitoring, and temperature mapping
- Inspecting and releasing unlicensed medicines and aseptic products
- Supporting quality systems, audits, and deviation investigations
- Maintaining and optimising QA IT systems and documentation
- Supervising and supporting junior technical staff
You will also contribute to the QA/Aseptic Unit rota, including weekends and bank holidays, supporting cancer services.
Essential Requirements
- Qualified Pharmacy Technician (GPhC registered) or relevant science/manufacturing qualification
- Experience in QA, aseptic services, or pharmaceutical environments
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately
- Good communication and organisational skills
Desirable
- Experience with MHRA licensing requirements
- Experience in quality management systems and audits
- Further training in Quality Assurance or aseptic services
- Experience supervising or training staff
