Family Help Social Worker - Dorset

MYN is currently recruiting for experienced and passionate Family Help Social Workers to join high-performing Children’s Services teams in Weymouth in Dorset. This is an exciting opportunity to join an Outstanding Ofsted-rated local authority at the forefront of national reform, helping shape the future of family support through innovative, relationship-based practice.

The Opportunity:
You will join a progressive Family Help Team supporting children and families across the full continuum of need, from early help through to court proceedings.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Completing high-quality assessments and care plans
  • Managing Child in Need and Child Protection plans
  • Supporting pre-proceedings and court work
  • Delivering direct, meaningful work with children and families
  • Building resilience through restorative and strengths-based practice
  • Preparing clear, evidence-based reports
  • Chairing multi-agency meetings
  • Working collaboratively with education, health, police and community partners
  • Maintaining accurate case records


What We’re Looking For:

  • Qualified Social Worker (Degree in Social Work or equivalent)
  • Registered with Social Work England (SWE)
  • Minimum 3 years’ post-qualification experience within English Local Authorities
  • Strong experience within statutory children’s services
  • Confident managing complex safeguarding and court work
  • Excellent assessment, analytical and partnership working skills
  • A resilient, compassionate and child-centred approach
  • Ability to travel across Dorset as required
