Field Service Engineer – Software, Automation
Location: Midlands (Field-Based, UK Travel)
Salary: £44,000 + Annual bonus 10% of salary + New Company Car + Benefits
The Opportunity
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Field Service Engineer to join a global engineering business, supporting industrial tooling solutions across a UK-wide customer base. This is a field-based role offering autonomy, variety, and strong long-term career development.
The Role
- Installation, commissioning, and servicing of industrial tooling equipment
- Fault finding and performance optimisation on pneumatic, battery, and DC tools
- Support network installations and PLC integrations
- Calibration, testing, and certification of tools
- Preventative maintenance and pre-delivery inspections
- Customer-facing role with responsibility for resolving technical issues end-to-end
- Identify service and upgrade opportunities and support wider sales activity
- Complete job reports, documentation, and service records
The Candidate
- HNC/HND or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- Experience with industrial power tools or within a manufacturing/service environment
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Able to work independently in a field-based role
- Good communication and customer-facing skills
- Full UK driving licence
- Flexible approach to travel, including occasional overnight stays
