Complex Needs Teaching Assistant - Full-Time Role in DidsburyLocation: DidsburyStart Date: ASAPContract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term

Are you a compassionate and dedicated individual with a passion for supporting children with complex needs? Our education agency is currently recruiting for a committed Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive special needs school in Didsbury on a full-time basis.

This is a highly rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of pupils with complex learning needs, including profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), autism, and associated medical or physical needs.

The Role:As a Complex Needs Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to provide tailored, hands-on support to students throughout the school day. This may include assisting with personal care and supporting pupils with sensory or communication needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with complex needs
  • Assist with personal care and daily routines where required
  • Support communication using tools such as PECS, Makaton, or other strategies
  • Help implement individual education and care plans
  • Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with complex needs (preferred)
  • A patient, resilient, and nurturing approach
  • Comfortable supporting personal care needs
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners
