Dual Fuel Engineer Apprenticeship

Starting salary: £27,976

Ready to build a career with purpose? Our award‐winning apprenticeship programme is designed to support people from all backgrounds, who may be new to engineering to become confident, fully qualified Dual Fuel Engineers.

You don't need previous technical experience. What matters is your curiosity, willingness to learn, and desire to make a difference for our customers.

What you'll gain

You'll join Utilita as a full employee from day one, working towards fully funded Level 2 qualifications in Dual Fuel Smart Metering Installation and a Smart Metering Diploma in Dual Fuel.

You'll also become Gas Safe registered and receive EUSR accreditation, all while earning a competitive salary and building a long‐term career.

How the apprenticeship works

In partnership with Cheshire College South & West, your training journey includes:

6 weeks at our fully accredited training academy in Warrington

4 weeks on campus at Cheshire College

Ongoing field experience with a dedicated mentor, helping you build confidence and apply your new skills in real homes and communities

This structured, supportive approach is designed to help you thrive, especially if you're stepping into engineering for the first time.

Your development and salary progression

£27,976 starting salary during training

£31,208 once you achieve your electrical qualification (typically after 6 weeks)

£34,240 after completing your gas qualification (on average after 20 weeks)

£38,993 once fully signed off and managing your own schedule
