Job description
We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to work within specialist SEN schools across Gloucester, supporting children and young people with a range of additional needs. These may include autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.
In this role, you will work closely with teachers and other support staff to help students access the curriculum, both inside and outside the classroom. You will provide targeted support on a one-to-one basis and in small groups, helping to reinforce learning, develop key skills, and promote independence.
You will also play an important role in supporting students' emotional wellbeing and behaviour, using positive and consistent approaches to create a safe and engaging learning environment.
The ideal candidate will be patient, proactive, and adaptable, with a genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs. Previous experience in education or care settings is beneficial, but not essential.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to build experience in SEN education while making a real difference to students' development and confidence.
