This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 3:00pm, where no two days look the same, and every day counts.
What you’ll be doing:You’ll be supporting pupils across both primary and secondary phases, working closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to create a calm, structured, and encouraging learning environment.
- Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
- Helping pupils access learning through tailored support strategies
- Building strong, trusting relationships with children who may need consistency and reassurance
- Supporting behaviour positively, using clear routines and de-escalation techniques
- Assisting with personal care where required
- A Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
- Experience working with children or young people with SEN
- A calm, patient, and adaptable approach
- Confidence working in both classroom and more specialised learning environments
- Someone who’s happy to get stuck in and be part of the wider school community
- A welcoming, supportive team who genuinely value their support staff
- Ongoing training and development opportunities
- The chance to gain experience across a broad range of SEN needs
- Potential to move into a permanent role for the right person
This is the kind of setting where small wins feel huge, and your role really matters. You’re not just supporting learning, you’re helping young people build confidence, independence, and trust in the world around them.
