Permanent | Full-Time | Term Time Only

Location: Wilmslow, Cheshire East Salary: £22,996 - £25,068 per annum (actual salary, dependent on experience and qualifications) Hourly Rate: £12.87 - £14.03 per hour Hours: 40 hours per week, Term Time Only

We are working with an independent specialist school in Wilmslow, supporting children and young people aged 5-19 with Autism Spectrum Conditions and associated needs. The Role

The school are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a committed and supportive team.

In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting pupils’ learning, wellbeing, and personal development, helping them to feel safe, valued, and confident in their abilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with learning activities and personal care needs
  • Promote independence, positive behaviour, and emotional wellbeing
  • Build warm, trusting relationships with pupils
  • Assist teachers in delivering a broad, balanced, and engaging curriculum
  • Adapt your approach to meet the individual needs of pupils
  • Support safeguarding and uphold the school’s values and ethos

About You

The school are looking for someone who is:

  • Compassionate, enthusiastic, and child-focused
  • Flexible and adaptable in supporting pupils with diverse needs
  • Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people

Essential requirements:

  • GCSEs in Maths and English (Grade C / Level 3 or above)
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN
  • A sound understanding of safeguarding and child protection

Desirable:

  • Level 2 or above qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
  • Knowledge or experience of SEN, SEMH, or ASD
