Job description

Location: Stechford, Birmingham

We are looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support pupils with SEND needs in a warm and supportive school environment.

About the Role

  • Provide support for pupils with MSI, ASD, PMLD, PD, and SLD across structured and sensory-based learning.
  • Adapt learning materials, communication tools, and sensory resources to meet individual needs.
  • Assist with personal-care routines, independence-building tasks, and mobility support.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and therapy teams to deliver targeted interventions.
  • Support pupils during enrichment activities, outdoor learning, and life-skills sessions.
  • Contribute to progress monitoring, behaviour support, and IEP reviews.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience supporting SEND pupils.
  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Qualifications such as CACHE, NVQ, or TA Level 2/3 are beneficial.
  • Motivation to progress as a teaching assistant.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.

The role advertised is for temporary supply work.
