We are seeking a proactive and driven individual to join our team as an Accounts Assistant. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, capable of working independently, and possess excellent communication skills to effectively engage with both internal and external stakeholders. The ability to convey financial information clearly to individuals with varying levels of understanding is essential.
This role is well suited to someone with experience in the tasks outlined below or an individual at the early stages of their accounting career. For the right candidate, there is an opportunity to receive financial support towards achieving an accountancy qualification, such as AAT, with the potential to pursue further training upon completion.
How you'll make an impact
- Take ownership of the cashbook postings. Ensure daily posting of items and conduct thorough investigations into any unallocated items.
- Generate sales invoices for clients promptly upon receiving instructions from the NOS team and other internal sources.
- Prepare and distribute monthly statements for clients with outstanding debts.
- Monitor debtor balances and actively pursue overdue payments beyond issuing monthly statements. Escalate problematic accounts as needed and work towards reducing outstanding debtors.
- Provide support to the wider organisation as required, particularly in tasks like those listed above, but for other entities.

- Ability to prioritise and organise own workload to ensure that deadlines are adhered to.
- Ability to work under pressure and without supervision.
- Ability to liaise with colleagues, working as a team.
- Ability to develop and sustain relationships with both internal and external customers.
- Capable and confident written English skills.
- Confident and effective telephone skills.
- Confident numeracy skills.
- Good attention to detail.
