SEN Teaching Assistant – Flexible Opportunities (Wakefield)
Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs? We are currently recruiting dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join a supportive and nurturing primary academy environment in Wakefield.

The Role
We are offering full-time, part-time, and supply positions, allowing you to choose a working pattern that suits your lifestyle.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
- Assisting the class teacher with tailored lesson delivery
- Promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies
- Helping pupils develop social, communication, and life skills
- Creating a safe and inclusive learning environment
Requirements
-
Previous experience working with additional needs, either:
- In an educational setting (school, college, nursery), or
- In a support worker, care, or youth work role
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners
