Job description
We are seeking a charismatic and engaging individual to join a dynamic UK-based Business Development team.
This is a warm-sales, relationship-focused role, where you will engage with existing members and introduce them to a broader portfolio of services, including networking events and HR & Health & Safety consultancy.
Working closely with Business Development Managers, this role plays a key part in supporting commercial growth and strengthening member engagement by developing long-term client relationships.
This position is centred on high-quality conversations and meaningful engagement, rather than transactional selling.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with members to promote events, briefings, and industry updates
- Convert members into subscription services (e.g. HR and H&S offerings)
- Identify needs and qualify opportunities through structured conversations
- Follow up with event attendees and nurture ongoing interest
- Maintain accurate and timely updates within the CRM system
- Collaborate with advisers and Business Development Managers to build pipeline
- Contribute to team targets and overall performance metrics
- Ensure compliance with quality, data, and regulatory standards
- Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and development
Day-to-Day Activities
- Make outbound calls and send emails in line with agreed campaigns
- Handle inbound enquiries, resolving or directing as appropriate
- Build knowledge of member organisations, their challenges, and priorities
- Promote relevant events and ensure suitability for attendees
- Clearly explain subscription services and commercial offerings
- Use structured questioning techniques to guide engagement
- Accurately record all interactions in the CRM system
- Follow up actions within agreed timescales
- Work to defined activity levels, quality standards, and KPIs
- Engage in continuous development through coaching and training
Requirements
- Experience in an outbound calling environment (e.g. Recruitment, telesales, insurance, or similar)
- Familiarity with CRM systems and accurate data entry
- Proven experience working to KPIs and performance targets
- Willingness to learn and develop knowledge of services and membership offerings
- Self-motivated with a strong drive to succeed
