Mental Health Youth Support Worker – NewcastleFull-time | Long-term | Specialist SEND Setting

Protocol Education is working with a thriving special needs school in Newcastle, supporting pupils with Autism (ASD), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and complex learning disabilities. Many of the pupils have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), and the school prides itself on helping every child build self-esteem, achieve meaningful targets, and develop a love of learning.

You'll be joining a dedicated, innovative team who work tirelessly to inspire, motivate, and support pupils to achieve their very best.

Your role as a Mental Health Youth Support Worker

Support children and young people with SEMH and additional needs in lessons and around school

Help pupils regulate emotions, build resilience, and develop positive coping strategies

Create a safe, nurturing environment where pupils feel valued and motivated to learn

Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families to provide consistent support

Has strong behaviour management and the ability to adapt to different pupils

Builds positive relationships with staff, students, and the wider school community

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
