Graduate Recruitment & Development Manager

Job description

LHH is working with a leading international law firm to recruit a Graduate Recruitment & Development Manager on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

This is a pivotal role within a high-performing HR function, offering the opportunity to lead and shape the firm's trainee and apprentice solicitor programmes from attraction through to qualification.

You will act as the key point of contact for all graduate recruitment and development activity, working closely with senior stakeholders across the business while managing a small team.

Key ResponsibilitiesRecruitment & Attraction

Lead all graduate recruitment processes, including vacation schemes, training contracts, solicitor apprenticeships, and open days

Oversee assessment centres, including design, delivery, and decision-making

Drive employer branding and attraction strategy across universities, events, and digital platforms

Build and manage relationships with external partners and suppliers

Development & Training

Oversee trainee and apprentice development, including seat allocations and performance management

Manage the qualification process in line with regulatory requirements and business needs

Support and advise supervisors on trainee development and best practice

Monitor performance and manage any pastoral or performance-related matters

Future Trainee Engagement

Oversee future trainee programmes, including engagement initiatives and financial support processes

Strategy & Operations

Manage budget, reporting, and analysis for graduate recruitment activity

Ensure compliance with SRA regulations and stay up to date with market developments (including SQE)

Contribute to wider HR and global initiatives as required

About You

Proven experience in a Graduate Recruitment & Development role ideally in a law firm, operating at Manager level

Strong understanding of the trainee lifecycle, including recruitment, development, and qualification

Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

Commercial, proactive, and solutions-focused

Resilient, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment

A collaborative leader with a passion for developing others
