Sample Room Intern

Job description

We're seeking a motivated and creative Sample Room intern to join our team.As an intern, you'll play a key role in supporting our Sampling department, gaining behind-the-scenes insight into how a high-end fashion label operates.

A bit about the brand: Founded in 1988, Jenny Packham is a British fashion label Synonymous with elevated luxury, unrivalled craftsmanship, and amplified glamour. Celebrated signature styles showcase sculptural silhouettes, exquisite detailing, hand-beading and glittering embellishments.

Duties and Responsibilities

Toile and final sample cutting

Logging, monitoring usage and preparing fabrics for send out to factories

Hand sewing and finishing garments

Beading and embroidery alterations

Liaising with the pattern cutters and machinists

Sourcing fabrics and trimmings around London

Assisting in all aspects of getting the collection finished

Desired Outcomes of the Internship

Thorough knowledge of toile cutting/ high end fabrics and finishing techniques/ sample room

An integrated member of the sampling team and Head Office

Full understanding of the development process of single garments and the collection process

General Requirements

Studio hours are Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm (full and part time internships considered)

Please note internships are offered for a minimum of 3 months and maximum of 6 months

This internship is only available to students currently enrolled in full time education at a college or university, where a placement is a required element of their course

Whilst this internship is unpaid, travel expenses will be covered

We do not offer remote placements and we are unable to organise visas for international students
