About the roleWe are looking to recruit an experienced Health Care Assistant (HCA) at Frimley NHS Health Foundation Trust (FHFT). This part‐time role requires 23 hours per week and does not meet Government sponsorship requirements.

The HCA will work under the direct or indirect supervision of a Registered Nurse / Nursing Associate, assisting with patient care and facilitating the smooth operation of the department. The role is front‐facing and requires excellent communication skills in spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

Assist the nursing team with the care of patients.

Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, oxygen saturation, and blood glucose levels.

Record ECG (following additional training).

Perform simple aseptic dressings and removal of sutures, clips, cannulas, drains, and catheters where appropriate.

Recognise and report pain and discomfort, using appropriate pain tools.

Assist with end‐of‐life care and the management of deceased patients.

Identify patients at risk of falls and implement preventive measures.

Provide excellent customer care to patients, relatives, carers, and colleagues.

Support the department team, maintaining respect, dignity, and compliance with patient‐care standards.

Qualifications and experience

Current experience as an HCA in a UK healthcare setting.

Strong communication skills in spoken and written English (high level).

Ability to work under supervision of a Registered Nurse or Nursing Associate.

Willingness to complete any required training or assessments.
