Job description

Learning & Development Manager

West Yorkshire

Up to £70,000

A fantastic opportunity has become available for an experienced Learning & Development Manager to join a growing healthcare organisation in a pivotal leadership role focused on transforming training, induction, and colleague development across the business.

This is a highly visible position with the opportunity to shape the future of learning and development within a multi-site organisation that is investing heavily in its people strategy, leadership pathways, and long-term workforce development.

The successful candidate will lead and develop the existing training function while redesigning the overall colleague learning journey — from onboarding and induction through to leadership development and career progression.

There are also exciting long-term plans to create an internal leadership and development academy, making this an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys building modern, scalable L&D frameworks that genuinely improve colleague engagement and retention.

  • Lead and develop the existing Learning & Development team
  • Oversee a growing internal training function across multiple services
  • Redesign and enhance the induction and onboarding experience
  • Create engaging development pathways for colleagues and future leaders
  • Support the development of a group-wide leadership academy
  • Review and modernise mandatory training delivery models
  • Conduct cost-benefit analysis around online versus face-to-face training
  • Improve training compliance, engagement, and overall learning outcomes
  • Build scalable learning frameworks aligned with organisational growth
  • Work closely with operational leadership teams to identify development needs

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a senior Learning & Development or Training leadership role
  • Experience designing and implementing L&D strategies within multi-site organisations
  • Strong understanding of blended learning approaches and training delivery methods
  • Experience improving induction, leadership development, and colleague engagement
  • Commercially aware with the ability to balance quality and efficiency
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
  • Healthcare, social care, or similarly regulated sector experience would be advantageous

What’s On Offer

  • Salary up to £70,000
  • Opportunity to shape a growing L&D function from a strategic level
  • Significant autonomy and long-term progression opportunities
  • Involvement in major organisational development projects
  • Office-based role within the Leeds area
